2012 sportsman 400 or 500?

They both sit on the same frame and since the 400 is more like a 450 they seem so close on power.
anybody have a new 400 to compare? Will i notice any power difference between the two?

3HP difference between the two, the 500 comes with wider rear tires, other than that, thats about it. Keep in mind though, the 500 has been around for a very long time, and has a proven track record as being a very reliable engine, not saying the 400 (or 450 actually) isn't reliable, just doesn't have the miles that the 500 has.

The 455cc (400HO) and 498cc (500HO) are both built by Fuji, so should be no worries on the reliability of either.

I believe their both the same engine, just one has a larger carb or something. If thats true, they both should be reliable.

I love that blue. 400 gets my vote eventually.

275 pounds lower towing capacity compared to the 500.

The 3hp don't sound like much but if you decide to go up a tire size it would make a difference!
