Purchasing a 2008 TOURING 500 ho EFI need advise.......please

Hello and good day. I am new to Polaris 4 wheelers but not new to Polaris. I have the opportunity to purchase a 2008 Touring x2 500 HO EFI in blue with pure Polaris windshield, front and rear bumpers and heated hand/thumb warmers. I can pick this Beauty up with only 247 miles and in perfect condition, for 5450.00 please give me your opinion on cost and what ever else you feel I may need to know. All input is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Rick and family.

Absolutely not. I have seen the 500 X2's for $6,500 brand new. Also, I have seen the shorty 500's for 5K brand new. Buy new, man. That price is way too high IMO.

Good luck.

Welcome to the forums. We bought our 08 500 efi new in 2010 for 6100.00, this summer the dealer had a new 09 500 efi touring which was 6800.00. If it was me i'd would get it, seems like a reasonable price. But you can always start lower and see what happens. Also haven't had any problems with the 500 what so ever, the wife loves it and I can't talk her into a 550 with powersteering! So good luck with it!

I have been looking for well over 6 months. What I have seen is 1000-3000 miles on the exact machine in question without $700.00 in accessories (like this one) and all beat up. I don't think I am getting the worlds best deal. I think it is fair for the condition. I'm hoping to ride it for a couple years and not cost me much when I sell it. However I would like as many responses to this thread as possible. That way, my opinion won't cloud my judgement. Thanks for the replies so far. Keep them coming.

Blessed regards, Rick and family.

Rick, I'm think it sounds like a good deal, however, a new one might only cost you another grand. Also, you should consider a leftover 2011.

I have found them for 1200 more new. The funny thing is that these wheelers plain off at a steady 5000 resale up to 10 years old with under 3000 easy miles. I think I'm going to get this one. Use it for a couple years and get close to what I paid for it back.
