Ready to buy first ATV

Hello everyone! I'm new to ATVs and want to get a used one and heard good things about Polaris. I need one mainly to use around the house to lug 19' boat, etc. I have a line on a 1999 250 Trailboss. The guy wants $1200. What do you guys thyink I should offer him, it seems to be in good shape and runs good. Anything you can tell me to look for would be appreciated.
Thanks!!!!

I would at least get a 500 CC and like XP 09 says Good luck, Also i would leave the wheel down on the tongue of the trailer.

I didn't think your comment was harsh. you were just answering his question, by they way i agree with.

If the boat is aluminum, and has a light tongue weight and you don't exceed what the ATV is rated for you should be OK.
if its too heavy you wont have enough wieght on the front to steer.

I garantee once you get an ATV, you'll be using it more than just pulling your boat around the yard!!

I don't know much about the quad in question, but $1500 seems a little high for a 12 year old 250, in my opinion.

Will take your advice and do some research to price this stuff out. If you can swing a little more cash I think you could get 2 new 500 ho sportsmans for about 10 otd.
