SHOCKED by some pricing differences ive seen

so i picked up my first quad here about 2 months ago.

2008 Sportsman 800 with the mossy break up paint job.
it was brand new on the lot and was a left over from 2 years ago and the dealer wanted to move it so i got it for 8,000 CAN

i thought that was a fair price.

it was a LOT lower then a 2010 and i was seeing used ones on the auto trader from the same year for only a bit less so i figured i was getting a good deal there.

now, i live WAY up in northern alberta.
so usually the prices of everything are inflated as everything has to be trucked in and its a long distance to truck stuff in.
so im just use to playing a little more for everything.
and i assumed i had done so on the quad.

so im on holidays right now.
im sitting down south baking my skin on the beach and enjoying myself.
and i thought id slip into the local polaris dealer down here and i needed to get a part for my boat and i thought id maybe look to see if i could get a some cheaper prices on some after market stuff for my quad.

and i was blown away!

right at the doorway when i walked in there was my EXACT quad sitting right there for sale... and brand new!
only exception was it was a 2007.
but it was the exact paint, mossy break up, and it was a 800.
so other then being a year older it is my quad.

and on it sat the sticker price.
now the wind had blown it over so it was jam side down, so i slowlly reached over to flip it back over again and i knew.... i KNEW i was gonna be ticked off when i saw the price, i knew it was gonna be a lot cheaper then what i paid for mine.

and i nearlly buckled my knee's when i turned the dealer sticker over.
it was listed ON SALE at 10,800 CAN

that is allmost 3k more then i paid for the exact same quad except a year newer!

so the salesman came up and asked me if i was interested in that quad.
i think he mistook my ear to ear smile as one of interest in buying.
so i thought maybe id dig a bit.
see what i could get him down too.

and the best.... the BEST deal he could do was to maybe get it down to 10,000 CAN

so now i know i got a good deal on my quad.
and i also know what dealer im NEVER going to go to to buy another.

thought it was interesting and thought id share.

Yeah that does sound crazy. You got a good deal for sure. Especially for you area it sounds. You gotta be feeling good about that A.
