Many factors included in your rates, claims you made, area you live in and credit history. (are you high risk?) So it really does very. Just because someone gets insurance for 200 another for 350 really depends on different factors. 350 a year is cheap if you expect your quad will be stolen. Best insurance is one time investment of 250 dollars for a set of uncuttable chains and locks. Invest in a couple sets of kryptonite locks and chains. Only thing removing them is a blow torch. Just be smart use high quality stuff not Wal-Mart brand locks and cables. Only takes 8 minutes to cut through a 5/8 cable. They will never cut through a kryptonite chain without a blow torch. BTY a 5' kryptonite chain and lock weigh 20 lbs. Two of them 40 lbs. that most quads need. So they are bulky but cheapest insurance for theft you can by.

Chaining up is always a good idea but chains wont protect it from rolling doun the hill. Friend of mine just bought a little 250 artic cat for his kid and the kid let a friend ride it. The friend wrecked it coming over a rise to fast and rolled it off the side of the road. Kid got banged up a little but nothing bad thank goodness. Bent the bars and front rack and broke one of the head light mounts. $1700 worth of damage for a 1 month old $3200 machine. $8 a month and a $250 deductable and it is back to new. I keep full coverage on both of mine. Just wish i could blame my toasted injectors and ECU on an accident.

Your right about one thing, what do you chain against. I chain to the bumper that's 10x10" travel trailer, can't roll down the hill there. That's why I use 10' of kriptonite chain. Safest way and cheapest insurance. Buy uncuttable chain and locks. No one in there right mind would attempt to steal your quad. Guaranteed mine will not be stolen. Cheapest insurance there is.

I have mine with Progressive. I think that it is just shy of $130/year for full coverage.

Allstate, $75 a year full coverage w/ $100 deductible.
Needless to say, I was shocked when they gave me that rate, as I had been paying $75 previously for liability only on my Warrior. I was close to dropping them last year after paying 3x what my friends were paying for liability, so now I am glad I stuck it out. Dunno if it was the change from a sport to a ute, but its the cheapest I have seen for a full year of coverage.
