Hey guys not sure where to really place this thread. I was looking at getting insurance for my 2010 Sportsman 500 HO and wanted to see if you guys had any good places to get it.

I just added a policy to my State Farm portfolio....about 250 deer per year, full coverage with 500/250/500k limits. Pretty cheap considering.

I was looking through a couple websites for places to purchase ATV insurance. I have found a couple and ran a quote by progressive, which i have my auto policy through. Progressive wanted $308-$338 for a "full coverage" policy with $250 deductables. I found this other place online and they were nearly half of what progressive wanted at $170 a year. Here is there website. I will probably be calling them to setup a policy soon.

I got quotes for 2010 sportsman xp850, from progressive on line and Foremost thru Farmers where I have other vehicles and home. Quote was full coverage with 250 collision dedutables. Progressive 221 year and Foremost 211 year including a 34 dollar multi vehicle discount. Quotes will vary person to person depending on driving record and now credit history that many companys base rates on.

your correct! I really don't agree with the whole credit score for insurance thing. I mean you have to have insurance to drive so 99% of the time the people are going to pay so why do they need this. Heck my mom worked for State Farm for almost 30 years and I still do not understand.

I have been with State Farm on my vehicles for years. Excellent local agent service. I carry liability insurance to protect myself, I don't insure the ATV as its not worth it IMO to insure something that has little value. I think I pay about $169 a year for the highest liability I can get.
I happen to know someone who is being sued for damages and he has no insurance coverage on his ATV. Unfortunate events that led to someone getting hurt.

Also where you live makes a huge diff , ex. , a friend of mine has the same wheeler same insurance company etc. (no claims......bla bla bla) he lives in the boonies I live in a city , Montreal , and he pays waaay less than me. It all depends on the risk factor for the insurance company.
