Well.
Everything changed... Started looking locally and ran across five machines. All exactly what I want all in the price I wanna pay!
I ended up with a 2001 TrailBoss 325 4x2.
It needs some TLC but for the price I am happy. It runs, starts and rides great.(it's minor) Biggest issue is the steering linkage. There is some kind of bushing at the end of the shaft where the inboard tie rods attach. That appears to be worn. The pass side lower A arm is tweaked. The rack itself took a hit as did the front bumper. But both easily repairable.
Thanks for all the tips and advice guys!!

Important Service Advice!!!!!!!
I have a couple of older ATV one is a 1997 Trail Boss 250cc. Well the most recent thing is a starter problem. This could have been prevented if the starter had been properly drained. There is a drain plug under the pull start housing and also one on the starter housing they should be drained anytime use around water....and maybe just periodically drained for GP. I had not had any problem with the starter for the first two years that we owned it, but after a friend it on some serious mud excursions. He thought he had cleaned it up pretty well and it looked like new again. This is my daughter secondary ride and usually just sits around until friends and family want to ride...the starters OEM price is pretty costly around $300 to $350 +S/H. I have since found an aftermarket starter for less than a $100....but had I know this from the start it would have saved me plenty of head-ache and frustration. Because of it just sitting it caused the starter to complete rust together internally
