2004 Polaris Sportsman 400 4X4 Guage/4X4 Problem
I have a 04 Sportsman 4X4 and none of the guages work. The 4x4 button does nothing and the reverse override button does nothing. I have taken the top of the pod off and everything is hooked up. Any suggestions on the problem would be appreciated.

If the speedo is bad the 4 wheel drive will not work along with many other functions. The speedo head is the brains for the whole machine.

On this same subject, I have a 2004 700 EFI Sportsman with a little over 1000 miles. This thing has ran perfect since new, but the other day the speedo and guages went crazy. The needle would jump around and all the led indicators would flash. I can turn the key off, wait a second and turn it back on and occasionally it will be ok, but the 4WD indicator stays on. This machine is stored inside and the headlight unit has not been underwater that I know of. Could this just be the computer is bad and I have to replace? If so, how much are those puppies?
