Checking the Oil

I just bought a used 2000 Polaris Xplorer 400 4x4. Bare with me, I'm new at atv'ing. How the heck do I check the oil? And can anyone point me in the right direction for a wiring diagram of the headlight/speedometer unit?

thats a two stroke machine if im not mistaken right? ur oil tak should be on the front of the machine, before the handlebars.

your local dealer should be able to make a copy of the wiring diagram for you.
if they wont do it for ya, let me know and ill see what i can track down.
