1999 Sportsman 335 Spark Problems

Hello, I have a 1999 335 4x4 that only gets fire at the plug the first spark then it will not fire again. If I keep hitting the ignition button and letting off it will keep firing. I just put a new Stator on this bike and thought that would fix my problem but no such luck, any help would be GREAT. Thanks.

There is a black wire that has a spade connector and comes out of your CDI. unlplug this wire, this will eliminate your kill switch, keyswitch, and ETC. If you still don't have spark let me know! ~Phil

I'm going to take a educated guess and say that you have a ground problem. Make sure your ground cable from engine to frame is still in good condition then make sure your stator has a good ground. ~Phil

I checked both grounds you said and they were fine, any other suggestions, I know some people have had issues with their speedometer so I tried unplugging it also but no luck.

Could the stator have taken out my CDI box or anything like that, if so is there a way to check it before I buy one? Teh only reason Im asking that is when I changed the stator out the wires going up to the wiring panel had be cut and corroided up. I didnt know if that would've shorted something else out. Before I changed the stator I was getting spark everytime but a really weak one.

Yes, it is possible some CDI wires could have shorted out and caused the CDI to go bad. We probably have a used CDI for your bike if you believe that is the problem. Let me know! ~Phil

I was also told that it might be my speedometer, the guy said to un plug it and then unplug the wires on the main "box" to reset it. I dont knopw what he meant by the main box but if anyone has any help please let me know. Also I have been trying to use a jump box on my battery because its bad, would that have anything to do with it?
