2008 Polaris Sportsman 500 EFI HO fuel tank vent line ??? please help...
I have two lines leading into the area behind the top headlight assembly on the steering column. Both lines are clear plastic approximately 1/4 inch thick. (similar to fish tank tubing) Both lines lead to a T valve. Two ends of the T valve have check valves on them, and one end of the T valve is open. It's a long story however, I have the T valve all mixed up.
One line leads from the fuel tank for sure. I believe it is a vent line for the fuel tank. I think that goes to the check valve for sure. However, which way should I have the check valve? Air going into the fuel tank? Or air venting out of the fuel tank?
The other line comes up from inside the steering column to the T valve. I'm not sure where this line is going to or coming from. Do I hook this to the check valve or the open end of the T valve? If I hook it to the check valve, which way do I have the air going? Down into the line or out of the line?
I have called 5 different dealers and gotten 5 different answers. I called Polaris, and they told me to call a 6th dealer.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Go to partshark.com and download the 2009 500 XP service manual. Look at the top of page 4.9.
