My wallet hurts
Found a leak coming from the seal where the shaft goes into my front differential. Any tips tricks or videos on how to remove this thing and put a new one in? Quad is a 2016 sportsman 1000 HL
Update: In case anyone else has this issue the only way i found to replace the seal is pulling the plate off and using a socket to pound on the back of the bearing
which pushes the seal out of the front of the plate. Waiting on my new seal to get here so i can throw it back in and hopefully be ride ready this weekend.
Rent a press, use a brass hammer or brass drift at the least.
Press the new bearing you now need back in. Hope I am wrong...but just sayin'
This reminds me. When looking for hard to find driveline noises over the years I used a mechanic's stethoscope, extended the hose and duct taped the tip on suspect components & test drove them.
Edit: leave one ear out of the scope to compare the sounds while testing
