98 Sportsman 500 Question

I need to replace what I'll call the right rear axle from the rear diff to the wheel bearing carrier. It is busted at the yoke.

Can anyone please tell me the proper name of this item so I can order one? I've looked at the OEM microfiche and it shows CV Joint BTB, is this the right thing to buy?

when you say busted at the yoke ,do you mean the yoke side that slides thru the carrier bearing or the yoke side that the driveshaft tube is on. either way it looks like an expensive repair. you may want to look on e-bay for cheap used. you might find somebody with a blown motor that is wanting to part theres out. rocky mountain atv or dennis kirk.com may have a kit with everything you need. sometimes you can save some $$$ by searching the web. i use that dealers microfish to find the parts and numbers and prices that i need and go looking from there. sometimes it's cheaper sometimes not . keep in consideration those shipping charges as part of your total cost
