Wiring in a winch

Yes when wiring in a winch, on the egnition key switch wiring which wire do i wire in to the hot wire on a sportsman 800 2010, i dont have a tester. thanks david

polaris come prewired to the front of the machine for the winch, if you have your front fenders off its on the right side of the frame ,

Pull off the cover that sits below the headlight pod on the column and you will find an orange wire with a white stripe on it, you will probably see two of them. Polaris leaves these wires hanging out of the wiring harness for aftermarket accessories( winches, lighting, etc.). Just have to hook into one of the orange and white stripe wires.

2010 Sportsman 500 HO
3 headlight mod (with relay)
rear rack extender
handguards
Warn XT25 winch
Ricochet arm guards(anodized black)
Polaris front & rear brushguards

Hey David spend $20 on a cheap mutimeter for christ sakes, you spent a whole lot more on the winch plus a ton more on the bike itself geez and it.s not like u won't need it in the future

along with a digital multimeter, one of these are nice to have. just hook up the lead to ground and you can test to see if you have 12volts, helpfull when looking for a switched circuit or if a fuse is good or bad.
