Early 2004 Sportsman 600- AWD inop/Light stays

Guys,

This is an Early 2004 Sportsman 600. The AWD light stays on no matter where the switch is. AWD does not wrork period. I tested the wires going to the center transfer case. There is 12 volts with switch on and .oo volts with it off.

I swaped speedos with afriend and the AWD still inop but the AWD light on speedo is not lighting up regardless where swtch is.

So if I have 12 volts to the diff and AWD symbol stays on display no matter what, what is the problem. Please Advise.

Thanks,
