Outlaw 50CC revs but little power

My sons Outlaw 50 worked fine when he last used it 4-5 months ago. I wasn't expecting it to be so long before he used it again, but it was in storage for that time. I went to start it the other day and it starts fine and seems to rev like it used to, but there's barely any power to the wheels.

I've drained the tank and put fresh 93 gas in, also ran a little sea foam through it. I checked the belt and everything is perfect, I was thinking it might be worn and slipping but then again it worked perfectly before it got stored for 4 months.

Would you strip the carb next? What in the carb would allow the engine to rev but not deliver power to the wheels?

Appreciate your help!

I would check the exhaust for an obstruction. I have seen mud-dabbers and mice build a nest in the exhaust of idle machines. Take the exhaust off and see if it has power. It will be loud and will suffer performance loss, but if it accelerates, you just need to clear the exhaust.

Hey I know this is a blast from the past - but my sons 50 is having the same issue - and this was after a period (2 months) of no use.

The bike still runs - but it's revving high and little speed.
It used to run fine, it was just after I fired it up for the first time after winter.

We do get a lot of mud in/around the bike. And my 3 year old hoses it down afterwards (maybe water got where it shouldn't have?)

I am a total novice when it comes to mechanics - we have it booked in for a service, but this is not for 2 months (they're so busy). So I was wondering what I could do in the mean time?
I'm sure with youtube videos I can figure it out.

It's not a break issue - it rolls fine.

I can try the exhaust tip above - is this simply a matter of removing the exhaust (what I call a 'muffler'?)
As for the 'clean the carb' tip - I literally have no idea what this is or how I would do this (but I can learn?! I mean we're not talking $100k super car here)

Thank you in advance :)
