Sportsman 400 transmission problems

I have a 1994 sportsman 400 4x4 that I purchased used. It has been sitting for about two years. I brought it back to life but the transmission will only engage in low range and when its in low, its actually in the high range. WTF! it will shift into reverse and high but will not engage. I've removed the linkange and tried to engage manually and engage when engine is shut off. Is there something I'm missing here? Is there a switch or lever? This is the first polaris I have ever owned. The previous owner said it was working fine when it before it was put up. Doesn anyone have a solution. The lights,4-wheel drive button doesn't work either. Could it have a hidden fuse somewhere? Please help. is offline

Mmmmm! Nobody out there with any ideas? Well, thats kind of what I figured would happen. I have one! Get rid of the POS and buy a Honda . I never like polaris anyway and now I know why. Appreciate the help. Anyone know the address of a good Honda ATV forum? is offline
