conecting rod to crank clearance 400 scrambler

Hello I am rebuilding a 95 scrambler 400. I just replaced the conecting rod (large end) bearing and pressed the crank together. My question is how much play should there be between the conecting rod and crank/thrust washers. My repair manuel does not list this spec.

you have to press the crankshaft together flush with the crankshaft lower connecting rod pin.are you using the polaris spx brand crankshaft rebuilding kit? do you have the crankshaft holding stand for truing the crankshaft? i also have the two micrometers with magnetic stands.when truing the crankshaft polaris allows .002 of movement on the micrometer scale, i true to .000 racing specs.you should have about .02 to .03 clearance between the crank pin thrush washer and crank wheel.thats assuming you installed new thrush washers.

I just have a press vblocks and dial indicater. But so far I have it spining true to about. 003. I used a new bearing and washers. But couldn't find a kit for a scrambler through hotrods or wiesco. I have a bit more play then that so ill try pressing it a little closer.
