Help! Electrical problem

Hello all, Happy Thanksgiving! I seem to have a problem with my 1997 xplorer 500. It will run fine, then loose ignition after a few minutes. Ive been thru testing (at hunting camp) it seems to loose the spark for whatever reason. What could be heating up and causing this? After many years of faithful service what could cause any ideas or insight would be greatly appreciated. CN.
