I had the same problem, luckily i was just changing the cv boots so i did it on the machine, i read somewhere else that if you can get the other side off it's pretty easy to tap the stuck side through, sounds like alot of extra work but that's all i can suggest .

Welcome, Ronnie!

First, are you trying to change u-joints or cv boots?

What machine is this on and are you talking about the rear prop shaft or cv shaft?

i use a slide hammer with a special attachment that grabs the axle and you can slide hammer it straight out,but ive had a 700 sportsmans rear cv rusted into the transmission ring gear, got one side off but could not punch out the axle,we were installing gorilla axles so the old ones had to come off,we ended up trying to press the axle off,but had to completely remove the transmission to attempt this.still did not budge with a 20 ton press,we ended up cutting off the cv right where it inters the transmission and replacing the ring gear where the cv was mounted.now all the cv that i replace i antiseize the splines when reinstalling them.
