Tune Up

Guys-

I'm new to 4 wheeling, so help me out a little.

I'm riding an 04 Sportsman 600.

I've changed the oil and I've cleaned the carb ( heavy dose of B-12).

I'm low on coolant, but havent added any just yet. Should i flush the coolant and start all over, or just add some 50/50?

What other maintenance do you guys recommend to maintain performance, or even increase performance.

When i bought the quad, it backfired a bit. I'm chalking that up to old gas. It seems a little cold natured and takes a little time to warm up.

Any and all suggestions, tips, how to's are welcome.

im assuming you bought this used so i would go threw the whole thing check the air filter and change if neccassary,change spark plugs,check brake fluids, change the coolant. change the diff fluids use polaris diff fluids. grease any zerk fittings . check your battery fluid levels, the list is a long one im sure i missed a few. get yourself a manual it will give a list and times for maintanence.If you dont have apolaris dealer close that can get you a manual some threads on here wrote that you can get them on ebay.
