2003 sportsman 700 camshaft problems

I have a 03 700 that i bought new changed oil regularly at around 2300 miles the first lobe on the cam went flat, I had started running mobile 1 oil in it and figured that is why it went bad because they cut back on the zinc, so I put in a cam from hot cams and new lifters from polaris used break in oil for about 30 min than have run polaris oil since, well 300 miles later and cam has 3 lobes that are going flat. I am running it without a thermostate because I had a problem with it over heating before all this, so I don't know if this could be the problem or if there is an oil problem, I checked the oil pressure and it is good. any ideas would be helpful.
Thankyou

havent heard of any 6-7-800 cam problems, I had a 03-700 put an 800ho cam and 40 mm carb on it, it ran good , used alot of gas, but never had any cam problems , had 5400 miles on it when I sold it, I use 5-30 Castrol Syntec in all my Polaris motors and tranny,s, have a 97-425 with prbably 9000 miles on it no cam problems,

have never heard of cam issues with the 6-7-or 8 polaris atvs. I have had so many of then come through the shop with different problems but never a cam! I would def put a thermostat in the thing! If by some reason that is what is causing the issue then they are way cheaper than a camshaft. The only polaris cam issues i know of are the older 500s after a couple thousand miles without regular oil changes they will wear out the exhaust came lobe and rocker.

I've run Mobil 1 in every vehicle i own and never had one motor related problem in any of my cars...trucks...quads...bikes ever. I swear by the stuff and would recommend that oil to anyone. Hope you get to the bottom of your problem but i really don't think it was related to the Mobil 1 oil.
