Can anyone give me advice on how to test a stator? I dont think my battery is charging anymore or I may have left the key on with the lights on, I was wondering if there is a way to check it without taking it apart. I have a 92 Trail Boss 350L.

get a multi meter, battery should have 12.3 or more volts when shut off, 13.5 -14,5 when machine is reved up alittle,check on pos-neg cables at battery

I'll get a meter and check it out, Thank you for the response. If it doesnt rea 13.5-4.5 when reved does that mean that it can only be the stator, I just put a brand new battery in, the old one wouldnt hold a charge?
