So just bought a 2000 xplorer 400 4x4. The guy said he put in a new gear shifter. Theres a lot of play in it though (Takes a few seconds to figure out where you are). Had other polaris autos and never had this much play. Is this adjustable? Could it be because maybe he put the wrong one in? Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks

It could be worn out. I think inside there is a plastic ball sphere(#3233646) that will wear out. You might could carefully take it apart, clean it and refill with new oil.

Took it off today there was no oil in there. Filled it with oil. Will check tomorrow and see if its any better. If not ill look into that ball. Should have read this before so I could have checked it then.
New oil makes it better. Goin into high and reverse feel pretty normal but low is tough to get into and feels weird. I notice there are 2 shifting
Linkages. The high and reverse use the same when I put in those gears and when trying to go in low, the left linkage tries to move but doesn't... Do I just have to
Adjust the linkage. Anyone have this problem before?
