Hey guys. I have a 95 sport 400 with large ports in the piston, this machine will not rev above idle. tried everything. I also have a 98 xplorer tore apart and noticed the ports are considerably smaller?? can these pistons be swapped? does the sport have the wrong piston? It seems to be bouncing of a rev limiter!! when blacke wire un hooked there is no change! soooooooo confused. Any or all help is greatly appreciated!

cannot change one worn piston in acylinder to another worn piston and cylinder, cylinders need to be bored to to size of piston that;s put in, not sure of port size from one year to another, , check compession on it while running, if not over 100 ,neeeds new piston, rings and bored
has 115 compression but wont rev up, idles like a dream. touch the throttle and it bounces off a rev limiter it seems like. i just noticed the ports in piston were different, curious if it maybe had a wrong piston. very confused why wont rev up.
