'02 SP500 H.O. Heated grip/throttle not working
Hey guys,
My machine has the factory grip and throttle heaters on it, a feature that i love for late fall/winter riding, which is pretty much all i've done with it since i got it this past september.
They have worked like a charm every time i've used them until this past weekends snowstorm, incidentally the first time i've ever plowed with this machine! How ironic. Looks to me that our old friend Murphy decided to set up camp here.
Put the 3 position rocker switch (located in the headlight pod) to LO, 5 min later not noticing any difference. Moved it up to HI, 10 min later my hands are uncomfortably cold and getting numb. This happened again that weekend, and still no change as of yesterday (when it was 50 and sunny).
I traced all the wires back from the grips and throttle, opened the pod and traced them back to the switch and connectors, and couldn't find any defects. Put some heat on the switch from inside and outside thinking maybe it was frozen somehow, still nothing. Not an electrical guru by any means, so where do i start?
Thanks!
