I am working on replacing my rear wheel bearings but I cannot figure out how to remove the hub. I have the bolt on the top a-arm removed and the 2 bolts on the side of the lower a-arm removed but I don't know how to pull the hub off. It is still attached to the lower a-arm.
The bushings that go thru the a-arms recess into the hub about 1/2 inch. You have to use some pliers and slide the bushings back a little and that will free up the hub for removal. May have to spray some lube on the bushings if they have not been off in a long time.
Yeah, what jac said above...I usually just take the bolt and stick it about half way in the bushing and wiggle it and pull out slightly while holding up on the carrier to take the pressure off. They usually work out pretty easily.
