Secret to removing those black push fender clips??
I figured out I could use a pair of dikes to wiggle them off. Works about 4x better than a screwdriver.
Has anybody found a better way to get them off?

If you have an xp it should have come with a small tool kit that has a pair of plyers in it.. There are 2 groves cut at the ends of the plyers for this very reason.. They grip the fastener perfectly so you can pull them straight out without damaging them..
If you don't have the plyers see if a dlr has an extra pair or order them..

Thanks for the info!

Ha!.. don't feel alone.. I remembered seeing the groves in the plyers when I first got the machine and thinking it was strange.. It wasn't until I was pulling off the plastics this fall and had messed up about 5 clips with a screw driver that it hit me that this has got to be what those groves in the plyers were for.. Fortunately new clips are literally pennys to buy if you ruin any but they save so much time.. I stripped my machine naked in 30mins.. Now that I know how to do it, it'll be half that next time..

I just pull them off an replace them with a 1/2 bolt. I have busted so many of them its a pain and the bolt holds my plastics tighter.

Hey guys, what are dikes other than the obvious answer
I've been using diagonal cut pliers and they work pretty well. You get the inner part 1/2 out then remove the unit as a whole.
