desperate sportsman 500 hard to start out on ice ,then starts, revs ,stalls-out

we ran outta gas on the ice so i went and got some premim and puit it in ..then repeadedly tried to start the aatv and it did the same thing as it did when it seemed to run outta gas it took a long time with starter to get it running for a second then stalls/dies-out every time..i put some fuel additive to get any moisture out but still n o go..any ideas im desperate since its still out on the ice ? ahh ya it seems if i pumped the throttle pre starting it revs for a second before dying but if i try giving throttle when it startes just dies out and i tried with choke in ,out, etc ..
its a 2001 sportsman 500

I think you have gotten some trash in the carb. You might have to remove the carb,clean it and put it back on. You might try lightly taping on the carb,the float might be sticking.

Could try removing the seat and covering the air snorkel to the carb with your hand, this will cause a high vacuum when cranking and will pull fuel to the carb. if you cant reach the snorkel ,remove it from the airbox and turn it around so it is facing rearward.
