Battery keeps dying
I have a 1990 polaris 350L trail boss, I put in a new battery and it just keeps dying on me after riding for awhile. I have to keep charging it over and over. Where should I start to fix this? It has to be something with the charging system but I want to start with the easy stuff (if any) before I go for the magneto assembly. Any thoughts?

I should probably also tell you that while I am out riding it, if I come to a stop and idle it will die too.

There is easy way to find out if the problem is in battery itself or in charging circuit. Start the bike and while engine is running, take of negative connection from the battery. If engine keeps on running, you have faulty battery. If engine dies it means there is no charging and engine is fed by battery only utill it runs off the juice.

dont run it without battery hooked up , the older models will send out too much current and blow all the light bulbs, battery acts as a buffer, buy a cheap multimeter and check it that way.
