can scratches be fixed??

I'm not hodling my breath, but are there any amature or pro body guys out there that have some tips on how to clean up scratches on body panels.. I have an 850 Touring (boardwalk blue) and have some scratches on the right side front and back from a mishap.. Not real deep but deep enough to be called scratches rather than scuffs.. Nothing broken or cracked.. I can live with it, but it bugs me..
Its colored plastic so no paint but I thought there might be some tricks out there for at least making them look a little better.. Again, I'm not hopeful, since I assume even light sanding will just make the whole area kind of stand out even more, but I thought I'd ask.. Thanks for any insight..

Just cover them in mud and you wont even see them. Actually not much you can do to get them out. I have seen posts where people use scotch brite and a heat gun to kinda melt the scratches away but I have never tried. I just use armor all tire shine when I get done washing it and it makes the machine shine and scratches are not really noticeable unless they are deep. Other things to try is pledge and turtle wax ice. I just use the tire shine because it is quick and easy. I am betting that if you just use one of those products you will be happy enough with the outcome.

I've heard about the heat gun myself but don't have a clue about how to go about it. Good luck. Somebody will chime in sooner or later.
