I need to replace the front axle bearings and bearing cups on my sportsman 500. What is involved in doing this and Can i get both race out without removing the seal sleeve & the Electromagnet ?
Thanks Chuck

Axle Race

Thanks Ross,
I meant the Race's inside the strut where the axle bearings are.
The problem i'm having now is the Hilliard clutch won't turn the Hub unless the bearings are tightened so tight you can hardly turn it by hand
Thanks again Chuck

bearings, races, hilliard clutch, armature plate are in the hub, if you remove all of these the hub will come off of spindle, coil and seal sleeve will stay on strut, I would also replace seal in back of hub

strut race

Hi Ross, Thanks for the reply & the info. Got any ideas of why i have to tighten the hub so tight for the clutch to bite . The clutch & armature plate are new & when i spin her in the air the magnet holds the plate real good.I was thinging that maybe it's in the strut race's or bearings but not sure.
Thanks Chuck
