Well, as usual, my problem is not the easy to replace, cheap bearing in the cover. It's inside the case. If I press down on the shaft while the engine is running, there is a "growling" like a roller in a bearing has come to pieces. I'm not sure I'm going to fix it myself. I haven't really liked this thing since I got it. It has been noisy from the begining, takes half an acre to turn, and is contrary to start(sometimes). If I could find another Bayou 300 in good shape, I'd trade in a heartbeat. Oh well, live and learn, and forget, and learn, and forg.....?
