fuel pump trouble off and on 2009 700xp

I have a 2009 polaris xp ranger 700 efi,ran fine for 2years when it turned cold this winter started having trouble with fuel pump operating.First failure i replaced fuel pump relay ran fine for a week,2nd failure pulled pumped from the fuel tank turned key on and it ran outside of fuel cell?? Ran fine for 10 days, this morning no fuel pump noise??? i have power to fuel pump with the red wire 12+ volts for a few seconds then voltage starts to drop ?? Is this electrical or a vapor lock issue ??????thanks its my dads trying to help him!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like the brushes in the fuel pump are at or beyond their max wear limit, change the pump and you will be back it the saddle. What happens is the brushes wear down short enough that they can get cocked at an angle and lock up the motor.

If you change the pumps out, you should have no problems using the old pick up filter on the new pump.
