98 Magnum 425 Oil Change

I've read the Polaris service manual and the Clymers manual for my machine and it says nothing about priming the pump after an oil change. Is this correct? Seems I read alot about priming the pump on here. Any input would be great.

Only certian machines. Most are just like cars, put it in and go.

'96 Xplorer 300 Aftermarket CDI box, K&N filter, jet kit, reworked expansion chamber from dirt bike, 1" taller + 1" wider rear tires, dual wenches, Rack on rear/w cargo pac, polaris box on front, Mossy Oak cover on seat, back-up lights on rear, aux. power source for GPS,"Theft deturent's", hand protectors, new clutch springs coming! Would love to find GURU style bumpers! By the way, I'm also a graduate of AMI with over 20 years of motorcycle mechanical experiance. New to quads, but the same basic engines. 2 stroke or 4 stroke!

Russ C, do you drain from the block and the tank or just the tank?

Russ, can you help me with where the oil plug is located? I've looked twice and can't seem to find it. I feel like an idiot.

The way I change the oil:
Drain the oil tank, hit the starter button for just a couple seconds. Try not to allow the engine to start. If so, turn it off immediately. That will allow the oil in the crankcase to come out. After that reinstall drain plug, remove & replace oil filter and refill with 0W-40 Polaris or Mobil 1 synthetic oil.
Thanks

Thanks TT425. I'm an idiot. Have you ever had something staring right in the face, yet you refuse to see it?

Everybody has a bad day. Sometimes the simple things seem confusing and once you do it you realize how easy it can be.
