Polaris scrambler 500 no start 2006 model

I am currently fixing a polaris scrambler 500 for a friend. 2006 year. What I have is spark, fuel to the bowl and nothing to the engine. I have removed the carb and cleaned all of the passages and reassembled and tested still no fire.. add a little fuel to the intake passage and she fires right up. The last time the atv rain it was caught in a wicked hail storm that beat it up pretty good.. It was loaded in the trailer taken home, this was last summer. Now I am trying to get it running and am a little lost and just looking for some guidance on where to go.

take air filter out, get a spray bottle with gas, spray directly into carb and see if it runs, if it starts but wont stay running unless your spraying, then it maybe fuel pump or carb is still dirty at needle and seat not letting gas in. did you drain gas tank? may have water in the gas.

sounds like a valve or valve guide wile turning it over put your hand over the tail pipe if it feels like its sucking u have a stuck broke dished or unseated valve and it will not pull fuel into cylinder

I'm bettin' the idle jet is clogged shut. Hard to tell without installing.Might be cheaper to just buy another one.

'96 Xplorer 300 Aftermarket CDI box, K&N filter, jet kit, reworked expansion chamber from dirt bike, 1" taller + 1" wider rear tires, dual wenches, Rack on rear/w cargo pac, polaris box on front, Mossy Oak cover on seat, back-up lights on rear, aux. power source for GPS,"Theft deturent's", hand protectors, new clutch springs coming! Would love to find GURU style bumpers! By the way, I'm also a graduate of AMI with over 20 years of motorcycle mechanical experiance. New to quads, but the same basic engines. 2 stroke or 4 stroke!
