Three light mod issue

I did the three light mod about a year ago.....Cool! it works nice but I have noticed that on longer night time rides my charging system cant keep up...anybody have any thoughts? Is this a symptom of my charging sys going bad? No problem on long daytime rides.

Get your self a battery tender or trickle charger to keep the battery fully charged when the wheeler is not in use!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also check the level of acid in the battery, if low use DISTILLED water to bring it up to where it needs to be.

What is it doing? I have my 3 stock lights plus an extra set of driving lights in my Warn bumper. Only time there is a noticeable draw of power is when the fan kicks on. As soon as the fan goes off the lights are back to full power.
Are the lights getting dimmer the more you ride?

my 2012 500 HO will do the same thing. Went riding for about 4-5 hours back around the Holidays and with all 3 lights on most of the day do to overcast skys and snow. About 3 hours or so into the ride my battery icon started flashing telling me that my charging system was not keeping up to the demand. Turned the lights to low beam only and the battery icon went out after a few minutes and never came on again.

I have the same issue with mine. With all 3 lights on for to long the battery light will flash. I then switch it to just the bottom 2 lights and the battery light goes off. I assumed the HIDs were drawing more power... really not sure though.

Popo,

I have the standard lights in mine still so I am not sure it has to do with your HIDs.

Got ya Z. I just assumed the HIDs were drawing the extra power. I did notice mine is fine with all 3 on if I'm cruising around 30 or so but once I'm going slow in tighter areas thats when the battery light comes on and I have to switch to the bottom 2 lights only.

When the fan comes on or you hit the brakes it really draws a lot of juice from charging system
