Too much oil? How?

OK. I did my first trans./front gearcase oil change today. After reading much of the posts on this subject it was a...breeze. I realize the front case is supposed to take about 9+- ozs. I didn't measure the amount I put in. I put in oil until it started weeping out the fill plug. Is that too much?

Nope, you're good provided you were on a level surface. Even if you measured out 9 oz. it would have come back out the fill hole before you got to 9 because it's impossible to get it all out when you drain it.
