polaris sportsman 600 coil

i have a sportsman 600 with no spark, i tested the output from exciter coil with peak volt adapter and multimeter, found 18.9 vdc and service limit is 34 vdc, is this a significant enough margin to determine that the coil is bad? and is the exciter coil part of the stator coil? need help. thanks
