oil alternative

I am looking for crankcase oil to replace the over priced Polaris oil. I have a 700 sportsman non- FI.
I have an issue with my gas draining into my crankcase, suggestions.

Fully Synthetic oil 0W40 should work. But you say nothing about what kind of atv you have...

I run rotella t 5w-40 synthetic diesel oil. But you need to get the gas issue fixed. It doesn't matter what oil you run if your thinning it with gas its not going to do its job.

Any good "Name Brand Full Synthetic 0W40" oil will be fine. I use Mobil 1 as do alot of memebers here. As for the gas leak I would say its the "float needle valve & seat" gone bad. Time to install new ones.

As a Polaris dealership technician I have found that the Polaris oil is USUALLY best as other oils have led to premature cam lobe failure! I have also found, after extensive research that Amsoil is the best equivalent. Unfortunately good oil is pricey, but it's cheap in comparison to costly engine repairs! Hope this helps!

Rotella full synthetic is the cheapest at about $21 for 5 quarts.

I currently run Mobil 1 0w40 in all my synthetics. the mobil 1 comes in quart sizes instead of gallons; much more convenient.
