2012 sportsman 500ho, shifting issues!! help
I have a 2012 500ho with about 500 miles on it. Was riding yesterday, normal riding.. not abusing it.. and it seemed to be not shifting. Won't accelerate over 10mph acting like its on low but is actually on high. Anyone run into this or have any info? Belt worn already??

well as far as I know there isn't supposed to be any shifting other then when you use the lever, but as to your problem.....how's your belt?

Sounds to me like the driven clutch is busted. They have 3 buttons inside that when worn break and don't allow the clutch to operate right.

Time to pull the CVT cover and inspect.
Rather be riding, instead I'm using Tapatalk

thats not alot of miles on a new machine...do you still have stock tires and wheels?

All it takes to break these is to spin the tires and all of the sudden gain traction. I know this for a fact!!! That's how mine got broke! But mine broke big time!!! Oh yea, my quad is 16 years old also!!

I know it doesn't shift, I should have worded differently.. I am going to pull cover today and see what is going on in there.

It is possible that your belt is worn. I would also check to make sure that you are getting spark as well. I have had both of those issues happen to me and I thought I broke it bad but after thinking about it and checking it was an easy and cheap fix. Let me know how it goes.
