2002 sportsman 500 strut assembley for a 2001 sportsman 400

well ordered a strut assembly off ebay..the 2002 sportsman 500 had the same part number as my 01 sportsman 400...upon further investigating i realized that the btb shaft numbers are different for each yr and model was wondering if it should still fit/work or if im wasting my time? will my btb shaft fit and work properly in this 02 500 strut or?

You may have to use your axle and bearings. What does btb mean???

'96 Xplorer 300 Aftermarket CDI box, K&N filter, jet kit, reworked expansion chamber from dirt bike, 1" taller + 1" wider rear tires, dual wenches, Rack on rear/w cargo pac, polaris box on front, Mossy Oak cover on seat, back-up lights on rear, aux. power source for GPS,"Theft deturent's", hand protectors, new clutch springs coming! Would love to find GURU style bumpers! By the way, I'm also a graduate of AMI with over 20 years of motorcycle mechanical experiance. New to quads, but the same basic engines. 2 stroke or 4 stroke!

As long as you replace the complete shaft it will work.

Some outer cv joints are stamped "btb" and some are stamed "USA." btb are 2 3/4" diameter and USA(Neapco) are 3" diameter.
