2004 sportsman 500 help
I have a 2004 sportsman 500h.o that I got cheap. But it needs a total rebuild. I would like to know where I can get parts relatively cheep. I am looking for the front fenders and the foot rest were you feet sit. Some other plastic parts. Are the plastic parts easy to find used or can I buy them new somewhere. Also the engine needs a rebuild. And are there any know problems with the 2004 sportsman. Thanks for any help

parts cheap is hard.....probably ebay, CL, places like that. other sites like bikebandit are going to be retail or close to retail prices. you might be able to find your plastics on ebay....or call your local dealer. most usually have a random collection of body plastics they can sell, just depends....but no one that i have ever seen will stock body pieces. and of course OEM plastics will be somewhat expensive, compared to used plastics.
and no known problems that i can think of on the 04 sportsman

also is there any tech info on the engine rebuild. i took apart sled and truck. but if there is any info on the quad i would like to read it over so i can learn from other people mistakes.

try breeze lawn & garden, they are a polaris dealer and are usually cheaper on SOME stuff. look at their crash parts section
