center tightener

i just got a set of barings and seals for the center tightener on my 95 scrambler 4x4. when i finally for the thing out of the bracket, the old barings came out in pieces. but i cant get the other side out. the barings came out, but the old seal and whats left of the baring enclosure wont come out. anyone have any tips?
