Mixing polaris 2 cycle oil

Does anyone know if I can mix Polaris 2 cycle oil straight into the gas or does it have to go through their oil injection system. If I can straight mix it, how much would I need per gallon for a 32:1 and 40:1 ratio.

It's fine to just mix the fuel tank, but I'd get a block off kit for the oil injection.

There is 128 ounces in a gallon, so 128/32 = 4. 128/40 = 3.2. So you would mix 4 ounces of oil per gallon of gas for 32:1, and 3.2 ounces of oil per gallon for 40:1.

Ok great. So it's just a standard 2 cycle mix. I wondered if the Polaris oil required a special mix. THANKS !!!

I'd love to find a block off plate for the little 50, but I haven't had any luck. I think I'm just going to plug the oil lines, and cap the port on the carb.

You think a 32:1 or 40:1 mix will be better for the 50 ?

Either is probably fine. I tend to error on the side of caution and would go more on the 32 side. Should be $2 spark plugs, and we're only talking an ounce of oil per gallon of gas in a 50, compared to running leaner and possibly burning out the top end.

I don't know about Polaris oil but there is usually a big difference between 2 cycle injector oil and premix oil. Most injector type 2 stroke oil won't stay in suspension very well and will separate out. It's made to run through an injector system not premix. If your gonna premix your gas I'd probably use something like Belray or Klotz 2 cycle oil that is intended for premixing.

That's a good point. I'll have to look into that. I have about 6 qts of Polaris injector oil that I did not want to just trash now that I'm doing away with the oil injection on our 50. I still have a couple of PW50s that I can use it in for now, but I'm going to convert them over too...eventually.

Why convert them if they are working? I had a couple of two strokers for 20 years and never had an issue and reading here it seems to be a very reliable system. It is also waaaay more convenient.

The oil injection on our Predator 50 is not working. I believe the plastic gear is likely broken. I haven't pulled the pump out to confirm this, but a little research found this is a very common problem on the Polaris engines. Either way, it stopped working, burned up the piston, and I don't plan to chance it again.

The Yamaha PW50's use a metal gear on their pumps and rarely go bad. I really don't need to convert them, but I'm trying to keep things simple. I don't like having to remember "unmixed gas for this one, mixed gas for that one". It's not that big a deal for me, but it seems to be for the grandkids and their parents. I can already see somebody putting unmixed gas in the predator and burning up another piston.

I just checked my oil. 5 of the quarts just say it is VES Gold "2 cycle oil for all 2 cycle engines", while the last quart is still VES Gold, but specifically says "for oil injected 2 cycle engines".

Both oils look the same, but who knows. Anyway, don't know if there is really a difference, but if it is, at least I've only got 1 quart of injector oil.

When I got rid of all my Polaris sleds with VES I had many gallons of gold oil left. Been mixing it into the chainsaw, dirtbikes, weed whip, and vintage sleds for a few years now. No issues and all running perfect.
