400cc engine rebuild

I currently have the engine out of my 96 sport due to some top end troubles. I figured while i have it out i may as well rebuild the bottom end too. Is there anything in particular i should change?

I found this:
POLARIS 350L 350 400L 400 MOTOR ENGINE REBUILD KIT: eBay Motors (item 320557897281 end time Jul-15-10 13:58:25 PDT)

200 bucks sounds like a lot considering there was nothing wrong with it.

Or this, a complete bottom and top end rebuild kit.

Ok never mind that. I cleaned the engine up a bit and noticed there is a pretty significant crack on the oil pump half of the crankcase. Anyone know where to pick up a cheap crankcase?

This is gonna sound stupid but i'm probably gonna try it anyways. The crack on the crankcase isn't that big and i'm broke at the moment so i'm gonna try to JB weld. Then i'm just gonna slap a new piston in and hope for the best. It only has to make it through this summer.
