Dirt/Dust in Throttle Body

Hey everyone,

So I took my 06 Sportsman 500 EFI out this weekend and it started running rough on me when I turned it off and cranked it back up after about an hour into my ride. I put another plug in and I started noticing a weird sound from the engine. After some investigation I found the culprit...the tube that runs from the intake box to the throttle body was dry rotten and was allowing air(and whatever else) to bypass the filter and go straight into the throttle body. I rode quite a bit before I actually noticed this. I put some duct tape around it just to get back to the truck and it seemed to run a little better. I now get a wrench icon on the main panel when I start the quad. I'd really like to get this going myself but I'm afraid crap has made it into the engine. I was thinking about taking the throttle body off and cleaning it and putting a new intake tube on it. Should I be worried about the engine internals? I've only been on my quad a couple times since I bought it last year and I swear it doesn't run half as good as the day I bought it. Thanks in advance!!

seems like you service warning came up. it is just a reminder to do you maintenance that is due, this is from the owners manual of my 2010 850.
but its the same thing on my 06 500. Time to change the oil.

Service Indicator
- A flashing wrench symbol alerts the operator
that the preset service interval has been reached. The vehicle should
be brought to your dealer for scheduled maintenance. See page 42

for resetting instructions.
