2003 330 Magum Help (New member)

Hey guys

New memeber here needing some input from the pro's...

My 2003 330 Magnum 4X4 has been giving me some issues lately.

I was pushing a buddy's quad down a long muddy road to get him out of the soup... I was doing fine but suddenly started backfiring and missing really bad.

The engine started running very rough, lights got dim and eventually the engine died. It was like the battery just went dead.. it had enough power to light the lights dimly but not enough to turn the engine over.

I was able to jump start it and get it to the house. I bought a new battery and put on it.. it ran fine for a day but then started doing the same thing again after another hard day.

Could it be overheating and not charging the battery?

Any other ideas on what's going on?

Thanks in advance for the help

Jim

Welcome

So, did the battery go dead, again?

Sounds like the stator isn't working right, or your voltage regulator. Overheating shouldn't cause charging problems.

Yes.. the battery went dead again..

I had a LOT of mud on the engine. Could it have gotten into the stator and fouled it up?

Thanks

Jim
