08 500 Sportsman Touring H.O EFI Blink code 47 help
I have a 2008 Polaris 500 Spotsman Touring H.O EFI.
The Check Engine light is lit after start sometimes and the throttle respons is terrible. it revs up with no problem, but wont idle down. It hovers around 2300 rpm for a couple of seconds, then splutters to a halt. Then it can be a Bi**h to start again, the starter jus clicks and the displa goes black. Turn of the key and turn it back again same thing, try the pullstart and the fuelpump and display comes back on sometimes. Seemes to be better when its cold.
downloaded the Blink codes and got an error 47, wich is IAC Stepper motor:
Open load or IAC Stepper motor: short to ground.
But wath the h... is that? or where is it on the atv? and can I fix it my self?

I noticed your ATV is very similar to mine. Watch out for the EFI 20amp fuse problem. Mine only has 200 miles on it and rode easy. It does not appear that many owners are aware of the problem. I will locate a shop manual and hopefully electrical schematics to see what that fuse if protecting.
Blink Code 47
IAC: Short to Ground
IAC = Idle Air Control, part of the EFI system.
The IAC is a non-serviceable item. If it is faulty, it must be replaced.
1-2, 30 ohms
2-3, 30 ohms
1-3, 60 ohms
4-5, 30 ohms
5-6, 30 ohms
4-6, 60 ohms
All other combinations = OPEN
I can't tell by the wiring diagram on my PC which wire would be ground.
Since the fault says Short to Ground, one of the "All other combinations = OPEN" should be closed.
Such as 1-4, 1-5, 1-6 etc.
Make a table on a piece of paper or spreadsheet and map out all combinations. Then test.
If all the pins in the table above read correctly, and all other combinations read open, the Short to Ground is elsewhere.
Let us know what you find.
