Moab 2017

Starting to plan the annual spring Moab trip again. We will be riding April 20-23, and driving back home on the 24th. Looks like it will be myself and my wife on our Touring's, one couple in their 800 rzr and one couple in their 900S rzr. Same as our fall trip in 2015.
Anyone else making Moab plans for this spring?

That's a long haul. I'm about 350 miles, 5 1/2 to 6 hours away. Should be plenty warm out there for you in June, but if that's the only time you can make it, then you gotta do it. My first time out there was in early July, and it was 103+ degrees every day. Hence, April, early May and October is now when we go.
If you need any trail suggestions, let me know. There are several "must ride" trails.

Thanks Bob! We are hitting the Paiute trails for three days and then headed to Moab for three. The trails we are hitting in Moab are: Arches Park, Harrah Pass, Chicken Corners, Gemini Bridges, Bull Canyon, and Gold Bar Rim. Don't know what to expect but should be a blast.

BP....if you get a chance while near Moab take a ride up Onion Creek Beautiful scenery and a great elevation change if you ride far enough. About a 6000 foot climb up to LaSal mountains. The trailhead is right off of route 128 that runs from the interstate into the city of Moab. We rode it last year and it was a very good ride....no slick rock but great trail riding

Gemini Bridges, Bull Canyon, and Gold Bar Rim. I would suggest adding Metal Masher to that days ride as well. You can connect Gemini Bridges, Bull Canyon and Metal Masher to Gold Bar Rim via the Little Canyon Trail. If I was planning that ride, I would do it as follows. MM, Gemini Bridges, Bull Canyon, Little Canyon and finish up with Gold Bar. I would actually pass on Bull Canyon, unless you want to hike into the bottom side of Gemini Bridges, about a 1/4 mile walk. Other than that, it's not a very entertaining trail.
Somehow you need to fit Fins and Things (south and north loops) into your schedule if you want to ride some slick rock. It's about a 3-4 hour ride if you are poking along and enjoying the scenery, or can be ridden in about an hour if you are riding with a haul a$$ group. I've actually done Fin n Things and Hells Revenge in about three hours before. They are both on Sand Flats Road, and you can ride from one to the other. Not my idea of a great ride when riding that fast, but the other three guys in the group liked to ride pretty fast. There's a little slick rock on Metal Masher and Gold Bar, but not near enough to get the true Moab slick rock experience.

I'm not going to Moab this spring. I'm camping and riding here in MO. I would definitely recommend Finns and Things and Hells Revenge as a combo, everyone needs to ride the slick rock. Absolutely nothing like it. If you're going in June Onion Creek should be fun. Last spring we rode Onion Creek to the edge of the La Sal's (got caught in some snow) and went all the way over to Gateway Colorado.

This fall I'm headed to the Paiute trails towards the end of September. Its my first time out and I'm pretty pumped.
